-Repertoire-................
The
highland pipe is suited to many varieties of musical
expression – from traditional Celtic airs, marches,
jigs and reels, to hymns, folk songs and even popular
tunes – the bagpipe can capture the tone of your
gathering like no other instrument.
In
addition to my standard repertoire, I have often tailored
a performance to suit a client’s special need
for tunes not originally composed for the highland bagpipe.
These tunes have included The Cornell University Fight
Song “High Above Cayuga’s Waters,”
“Kannon in D” by Johann Pachelbel, Wagner’s
“Bridal Chorus”, “Theme From Star
Wars,” and Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville”
to name a few.
In
my experience some tunes fit certain occasions best
– I have suggested below, some tunes for weddings
and funerals, for example.
